The latest piece in our Galt No. 8 Coal Mine collection, and this one’s a beauty! The H. Channon Corp steel pulley we used here was a staple in the Galt No. 8 mine in Lethbridge, AB. We hung it from an iron pipe support and partnered it with this uniquely stained Hemingray-45 glass insulator. Although the insulator began its life clear in the second quarter of 1941 and was later dyed this brilliant orange colour, the glow is incredible and just too gorgeous to pass up! To finish it all off, we mounted it to a reclaimed cedar plank we’ve given the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban treatment to. With its felt backing and installed hardware, this piece is ready to hang on your wall and set the mood in any room. A foot pedal floor switch brings the piece to life. Includes a 350 lumen G9 base LED bulb (pictured). This bulb should last several years, however if it ever requires replacement we recommend using an LED bulb (not a halogen) as the heat may cause issue with the 80 year old insulator glass.
